Melbourne's Finest

Demitri's Feast
141 Swan Street
Richmond 3121
Melbourne

So many of you have heard about how I have been raving about the food, the cafés, and the coffee back in Melbourne. Hence I dedicate this post to Demitri's Feast, one of the finest in Melbourne, and also voted the best brekkie/brunch spot in 2010. Demitri's Feast serves up amazing food, mostly influenced by its Greek owner, and the produce used are free range and organic. I have only been to DM once, just before I said goodbye to Melbourne for the year, and I was blown away by how inventive the menu was, and how hard it was for me to just pick on one dish (I wanted to order everything on the menu!) In any case, DM definitely lived up to its hype, but definitely check it out on a weekday instead, as the wait for a seat over the weekend can be quite a toughie.

Greek omelette with lokaniko sausage, potatoes and kefalograviera

Baclava French Toast with walnuts, thick Greek yoghurt and orange honey syrup

Semolina Pancakes with thick Greek yoghurt, rose jam, pistachios and orange honey syrup

European style thick hot chocolate

As you can tell from the spread, the presentation is pretty damn amazing and it looks totally mouthwatering! I will definitely recommend the french toast, because the toast is moist, and the orange honey syrup goes seamlessly well with the thick greek yoghurt. Also, the coffee that is being served at DM is excellent. Looking at it just makes me crave for soy cappuccino back in Melbourne! Well I would have gladly gave this place a 10 out of 10, but I think it will be great to see if they are able to play around with the menu once in awhile to introduce some dishes that uses local seasonal produce. Having said that, it is definitely a MUST GO in Melbourne!
